There isn’t much advance billing on the next album by the Dublin doozy. One wonders if Sinead’s pronouncement that she would, alas, no longer speak with the press has extended to a blackout on all publicity. The quieter, gentler Sinead is the wiser Sinead, and one built for the long haul. More important, without all the antic behavior—the push and pull of superstardom as it plays out in the tabloids—the focus is firmly where it belongs. On the music. We’re excited, because the first album of the rest of her life, Faith & Courage, was a delight back in 2000 and reminded us why she became a superstar in the first place, in spite of herself.
